Barcelona

Click for Barcelona, España ForecastBarcelona enjoys a Western Mediterranean climate, with cool winters and warm summers, August being the hottest month of the year with an average temperature of 29C. Because of its location, the climate can be humid and in August, locals tend to desert the city for the coastal resorts. If you stay in the city in the middle of the summer, choose accommodation on the seafront where sea breezes will bring some relief from the heat. The proximity of the Pyrenees can bring cold snaps, with snowfalls and night frost most years. Winter temperatures average around 10 C, and January can be quite sunny, if cool. Barcelona can be affected by the Tramontana and mistral winds in winter. Autumns and springs are the wettest times of the year with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in late summer. The ideal months to visit Barcelona are May and June.
